Raised: 3.5 million USD, for the restoration of the Salon de Diane

Champagne: Rare (not an adjective, its an actual brand name. A champagne child of Piper-Heidsieck, created in 1785 as an hommage to Marie-Antoinette)

Rare Champagne was on the gala evening’s menu (for cocktail…and with dessert). This methuselah of Rare Rosé Millésime 2014, hand-decorated by the celebrated artist William Amor, was part of the fundraising auction.

Becca Cason Thrash, distinguished honorary chair of The American American Friends of Versailles. A formidable Texan philanthropist wearing (probably) some David Yurman on those wrists.

David Yurman’s Liberty Cable bracelet, featuring 2384 diamonds, over 25 carats, set in white gold. It is inspired by The Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States of America in 1885. The bracelet fetched $250,000 at the fundraising auction. Sybil and David Yurman were gala guests wearing their own sculptures, sorry, jewels.

Raised: 42 million USD

Jewelry: Everyone. Boucheron. Tiffany. Buccellati, Cartier. But Isha Ambani takes the WhoWoreWhat Prize for carrying, by far, the most carats.

Champagne: Personalized bottles of Moët & Chandon, for the pre-game at least.

Isha Ambani, wearing a total of 1800 carats of jewels including 1000 carats of diamonds on her custom-made bustier, a Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker with a 50-carat Columbian emerald, and some heirloom jewels for good measure.

Eileen Gu, wearing 15,000 iridescent glass bubbles with a portable power system underneath releasing even more bubbles! The Airo dress by Iris Van Herpen and A.A.Murakami.
